Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Bonnie Rae Billing

Bonnie Rae (Britzman) Billing passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, after complications from knee replacement surgery. No services are planned at this time. She has been cremated and her wishes were for her ashes to be buried in the two places she loved - Texas and Glasgow. Ben will be up when the weather warms up and there will be a celebration of her life then.

She was born July 15, 1953, in Glasgow, Mont., the daughter of Carl and Tillie Britzman. She grew up on the family farm south of Glasgow and attended Glasgow schools, graduating from GHS in 1971. She then continued her education at Montana State University, graduating in 1975.

After graduation, she went to work as a juvenile probation officer for the 16th Judicial District and spent several years living in Miles City. In 1980, she was accepted into the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an FBI agent, where she served in field offices in West Virginia, Chicago and Austin, Texas.

On Dec. 28, 1992, she married Ben Billing in Chicago. With Ben being an airline pilot and Bonnie's FBI career, they spent much of their time traveling. Her last assignment took her to Austin, where they fell in love with the Texas hill country. So, after her retirement in 2004, they bought a little chunk of Texas where they built a house, had a few cows and took a Montana pup (Bea) to Texas. She used to love to call on a 20-below Montana day and tell how she was sitting on her deck having a toddy and watching their pecan tree blossom.

She is survived by her husband, Ben; a brother, Dick Britzman and his wife, Bobbie; one uncle, Wilmer Britzman; three nieces, Stacy Britzman, Janeen Britzman and Carla Olson (Ricci); one nephew, John Britzman and his wife, Katie; and eight great nieces and nephews Leinie Hughes, Gabe Hughes, Paityn Britzman, Chezney Olson, Lakely Olson, Clair Britzman, Kendal Britzman and Deshawn Joseph.
