Myron J. Stratton

Myron J. Stratton, age 90, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, in Billings, Mont. Burial will be at a later date in Lewistown, Mont., where he will be laid to rest with his family.

He was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Moore, Mont. He was one of seven siblings, the son of Myron Oscar Stratton and Blanche Marie, (Blackman) Stratton. He attended two years of high school and then enlisted in the Navy in July of 1945 at the age of 17. He was honorably discharged as a Seaman Second Class in August of 1946. After leaving the Navy, he spent his time working for the Great Northern Railroad. He took a brief break from his job at the railroad to continue his higher education at Minot State University. After attending college, he was rehired by the railroad and worked for many years as a dispatcher along Montana's hi-line, before retiring in 1992. He enjoyed traveling as well as collecting trains and cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron O. and Blanche M. (Blackman) Stratton; two brothers, Donald E. Farrington and John L. Stratton; and three sisters, Betty L. Laveen, Patty A. Goodan and Jeanette L. Stratton.

Survivors include one sister, Barbara L. (Stratton) Nelson of Glasgow; her children; and many other special nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Myron's family wishes to thank The Springs at Grand Park and RiverStone Hospice for giving him a loving home and excellent care.
