The Glasgow Courier - Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Letter to the Editor

Valley View Home Task Force

February 21, 2018

The Long Term Care Task Force wants to show our appreciation to the people of Valley County in coming out to support our local informational meetings. The questions asked, the feedback received and the discussions held have been truly enlightening and encouraging as we move forward with the May 8 vote to initiate a hospital tax district.

Equally encouraging is the understanding the community has shared in why Valley View is an important member of our community. Nearly 60 people reside at Valley View, and require care that they cannot receive anywhere else in the County. Furthermore, the home employs over 70 people making it one of the largest employers in the region. It maintains a gross operating budget of well over 4 million dollars annually, and most of that money is spent right here in Valley County, as salaries, purchases from vendors, medical care, and other activities or events.

We would like to encourage members of the community who want to ask questions to attend a meeting (the next one in Glasgow is March 15), or ask a member of the Task Force, go to our website http://www.voteyesvalleyview.org, or call 228-3562. Again thank you Valley County for all the support and interest you have shown in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

Tom Markle, Co-Chair
