James 'Jim' Henry Lipscomb

James "Jim" Henry Lipscomb, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Advanced Care Hospital in Billings, Montana, with his wife Margaret "Margie" by his side.

He did not want others to be inconvenienced in any way. True to his nature, he requested that there be no funeral services held. In respect of his wishes, his memory and life will be commemorated in a private family gathering.

He was born and raised in Glasgow, Montana, and it was there that he met Margie (Thornton) Lipscomb, his partner, best friend, and wife of 51 years. He later moved his family, including his parents, to Colstrip, in order to work for Montana Power Company.

He was an avid outdoorsman, and family get-togethers usually involved camping, hunting, exploring and pinochle. He loved the Missouri River Breaks/Timber Creek area and was always planning his next trip there. He was a mechanic, as well, and enjoyed restoring his 1947 Jeep CJ-3A.

Christian values were important to him, and he always put others' needs and interests ahead of his own. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed by family and friends alike.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Esther Lipscomb; his daughter, Leslie Lipscomb-Smith; and his granddaughter, Heather Malyurek.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margie; his children, Brenda (Jim) Malyurek and Kimberly (Lyn) Lewis; his six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty (Dave) Rothwell, Norma Neufeld, and Edna (Lorne) Teske; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and dear friends.
