Lady Scotties Defeated by Malta, Wolf Point in Back-to-Back Games

Losses Leave Girls at Bottom of 2B Standings

The Lady Scotties couldn't muster up enough offense to defeat the M-Ettes in a Jan. 12 conference game, losing to Malta at home 57-36. The M-Ettes came east to Glasgow without a single win on the season, and went back home with the one win they wanted to get.

Defensively, the Scotties worked hard, with three of the starting five fouling out in the contest. Anika Peters and Keely Fossum led the team in scoring with 12 points each. The girls were very solid at the charity stripe, with 78.5 percent free throws falling.

Turnovers were plenty for the girls, with 28 recorded in the contest.

The Lady Scotties also fell to a tougher Wolf Point team the following night in Glasgow, 73-43. Offensively most of the roster was able to contribute, but none could reach double digits. While Tehya Campbell's hard work under the basket earned her a seat on the bench after fouling out, everyone else was able to maintain their status in the game.

At the line, the Lady Scotties' efforts were less fruitful than the night before, with just a little more than half of their attempts successful.

The Scotties will have to regroup as they are scheduled to travel to Sidney to take on the Eagles on Friday, Jan. 19, then host the class C North Country Mavericks Saturday, Jan. 20.
