Dress Up, Dance and Donate to Help Area Children

The Gateway Club in Fort Peck will be hosting an adult prom themed “Life is a Carnival” to benefit the program Toys for Tots on Saturday, Dec. 9, starting at 8 p.m. Valley County Transit will provide transportation from Glasgow to the Gateway for $11 round trip. To ensure a ride, please call Valley County Transit at 406-228-TRIP (8747). There is an admission charge of one unopened toy per guest, which will be donated to the organization.

In addition to dancing to music by DJ Vernon and having fun, there will be a silent auction where attendees can bid on a variety of gift baskets from JR's Party Store, The Lake Ridge, Fort Peck Marina and Somadis. All monetary proceeds will be donated to Toys for Tots, which will allow them to purchase additional toys to fulfill particular needs.

Toys for Tots is a program ran by the Untied States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. All donations collected will benefit Northeast Montana children, as after the event the toys and any money raised will be sent to the centralized location for the area in Miles City. “There is not much in the way of assisting children during the holidays in our area, so that’s where we wanted to focus,” said Mark Teeters, one of the owners of the Gateway Club.

The Gateway Club is seeking more donations for the silent auction. If you are interested in participating, please contact Teeters at 406-230-0648.

Additional drop-off locations include Shopko, Markle's Hardware and JR's Party Store.
