Gladys Hoffman

Gladys (Myers) Hoffman, 84, took Jesus' hand and went home on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.

No service is planned at this time, but a celebration of life will be held later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Born in Columbus, Mont., on Oct. 6, 1933, to Edwin and Susan Myers, she was the seventh of eight children. She went to elementary school at Lower White Bird and graduated from Columbus High School in 1951. Upon graduation, she attended LPN Nursing School in Bozeman. She worked in surgery in Bozeman and Sioux Falls, S.D. In 1957 she returned to Bozeman, where she met Jerry Hoffman. They married in Columbus on March 22, 1959. They made their home on a farm south of the wonderful community of Opheim. There they raised four children, and after 35 years of being chief cook, bottle washer and hired hand, they retired to Billings. They both became very active in the local V.F.W. Auxiliary, serving in nearly every office. She was Americanism Chairman for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and beloved granddaughter, Michaela Marie Hoffman.

Survivors include Gerald Hoffman, her husband of 58 years; their four children: Laurie Hoffman of Austin, Texas, Julie Kurokawa and her husband, Carl, of Billings, Tom Hoffman and his wife, Darla, of Glasgow and Steve Hoffman and his wife, Kim, of Billings; her "little darlin's": Carlie and her husband, Seth, Steven, Alyssa, Kerry, Kayla, Reif, Mya, Reygan and Karson; and many nieces and nephews that she was very fond of.

She was fun-loving, gentle and fierce, a force to be reckoned with. (She referred to all 5 feet of herself as "Big Bad Mom.") She had an irreverent streak and was the best Mom, wife and farming partner. She will be missed.
