Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Montana 4-H Seeks Former 4-H Members

Montana 4-H is looking for former 4-H members to “Raise Your Hand” in a fundraiser that could bring $20,000 for the growing 4-H program. Valley County has nine 4-H clubs that may benefit from the award.

The 4-H alumni are one of the most valuable resources we have. The alumni know what it takes to be a 4-H youth and offer today’s youth some valuable advice.

Jennifer Nettles, an award winning singer, songwriter and musician, and her mom are proud 4-H alumni.

The Raise-Your-Hand campaign is designed to reach all of those 4-H alumni scattered across the nation and reconnect them with the program that likely gave them many of the skills they use today.

The campaign is a contest that could bring up to $20,000 to help with Montana 4-H clubs and the education of the state’s 4-H members. Alumni are asked to cast their vote, which goes towards winning a $20,000, $10,000 or $5,000 award for the states with the most alumni hands raised.

Alumni may cast their vote at http://www.4-H.org\RaiseYourHand to show your pride as 4-H alum. Tweet, post and share your #Montana4H#4HGrown experience or support and tag fellow alumni asking them to cast their vote.

Why alumni? 4-H gives kids the opportunity to learn by doing, grow from failure and develop the skills they need to handle what life throws their way. No one knows this better than you, our alumni. The alumni have experienced our program firsthand and we need your help to bring the same experience and skills to our youth today. Show our 4-H pride and help bring the same opportunity to our kids in our community and nationwide.
