Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

County Brief

Last week, the Valley County Commissioners were all taken to jail by the Vally County Sheriff’s Department, where they were given a tour. As they were guided through the facility, the commissioners had the opportunity to inspect the changes, updates and repairs that have been made. The Sheriff’s Department also reviewed the criteria the jail would have to meet during an evaluation.

Commissioners have also started researching the cost to have Valley County’s website updated. The commissioners are looking to make navigating the site easier as well as making it more social media friendly. The commissioners stated that the current site does receive a pretty fair amount of traffic, but they hope that the update will do more to increase the county’s online visibility.

The County Commissioners also submitted a letter in support of Montana Senate Bill 305. The Montana Senate passed this bill on Feb. 24.

For more information on the bill, see the article Senate Passes Bill Allowing Counties to Utilize All-Mail Ballots for Special Election on page 5A.
