Scouts Honor Glasgow History with Window Display

In honor of Scout Week, Glasgow’s Boy Scout Troop 861 decided to put their spirit on display for the entire town to enjoy. If you happen to walk downtown this week, you will see their new window display next to Gary L. Wagemen’s office.

Scout Week is a nationwide celebration for Scouts to recognize the anniversary of Scouting, and the contribution of the Boy Scouts to the nation as a whole. On Feb. 8, the Boy Scouts of America turned 107. The young men in the troop wanted to commemorate the occasion in a way that would show-off their contributions to the entire community and say thank you for the ongoing support.

In addition to the window display, the Scouts also served a variety of dutch-oven made cobblers at the Sweet Heart Bazaar on Feb. 4. “The boys wanted to say thank you to the community for all their years of support,” said Scoutmaster Mike Carney.

Take a moment this week to walk downtown to see the display and help honor the history of scouting in Glasgow.
