Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Darlene LaVonne DuBeau Gilmore

Early in the morning, Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved wife, Darlene LaVonne (Lind) DuBeau Gilmore, 78, passed peacefully to rest eternally after a hard-fought battle against cancer.

She requested that no services be held. A celebration-of-life party is planned for Mother's Day weekend, May 13 and 14, 2017, at the ranch in Dodson. Cremation has taken place.

She was born to Clarence and Elsie Lind on Aug. 24, 1938, in Glasgow, Mont. Later, the family grew with the addition of a brother, Ronald Lind, and a sister, Marla Lind Styren (Gary).

She devoted her life to her family and loved them deeply. She married at an early age to Edward Lee DuBeau and brought three children into this world, Debra Ann of Dodson, Douglas Lee of Joliet, and Cheri Lee (DuBeau) Carlson (her husband, Jeff) of Columbia Falls. They had many adventures together over 27 years, including a move to New Mexico for 23 years. The love for their home in Montana brought them back in 1980.

The last 35 years were spent in a loving and devoted relationship with Richard E. Gilmore of Dodson. They worked the ranch together, enjoying everything that ranch life provided. She enjoyed all that life had to offer, including a good whiskey ditch and a lively two-step around the dance floor. However, what she loved most of all were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by Toby Fulp and Johanna Jenkins-Fulp of Los Angeles, Calif., Nikki and Tyler Garrett of Austin, Texas, Stacy, Justin, Loran, Caitlyne and Chelsie DuBeau, all of Joliet, Zane and Barbie Gray of Malta, Jesse Gray of Malta, Pete and Cassidi Jacobson of Libby, Chancey and Tia Watson of Shepherd, and Lacey Nelson of Billings.

Her heart of hearts, though, were her great-grandchildren, Sonny Jim Gray, Tomas Gray, Layton Jacobson, Josie Jacobson, Audrey Garrett, and soon to arrive River J. Fulp. We love you Gram!

She will also be missed by her extended family, nieces, nephews, and all grandchildren, Richard "Shep" and Julie Gilmore, Richene and Tom Boschee, Levi Gilmore, Crystallyn Rosman Heppner, Ryan Lind, Jackie and Karl Harms and Emmett Harms, Corliss Nelson (Greg Nelson, deceased) and many more than can be mentioned. We also like to include her lifelong special friends, Mary Kindle, Marilyn Abrahamson and Elaine Vogt.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Phillips County Ambulance.
