Linda Mary Dirks

Linda Mary (Wall) Dirks, 82, of Williston, N.D., passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at the CHI St. Alexius Center in Williston.

She was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Lustre, Mont., to Orlando J. and Helen (Unrau) Wall.

On April 7, 1955, she married John Dirks in Lustre. After a short stop in Canada, and welcoming their first child, they moved to Lambert, Mont., where John worked on a local farm. Three years later they moved to Mt. Lake where John worked construction with his brother and there the family grew again. They later moved to Omaha, Neb., where they welcomed two more children.

In 1970, they packed up the family and moved back to Lustre, to farm with Linda's dad. While in Lustre, she loved working in her garden, crafting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

They moved to Williston in 2002, lived briefly in Savage, Mont. Following John's passing, Linda lived with her daughter, Cherylene, in Williston. She enjoyed word search puzzles and watching Walton's reruns to pass the time.

She and John attended the EMB Church in Lustre for over 40 years, always considering it their "home" church.

Survivors include four children, Lavonne, and her husband, John, of Lustre, Cherylene Setchfield of Williston, Kevin and his wife, Kelli, of Savage, and Valerie Fugleberg and her husband, Mark, of Holdingford, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, Cody Toews of Williston, Brooke Holzrichter and her husband, Jared, of Lustre, Amy Gramza and her husband, Steven of Wichita, Kan., Casey Toews of Hillsboro, Kan., Morgan and Molly Setchfield of Williston, Caleb Dirks and his wife, Casie, of Williston, Cassandra Robinson and her husband, James, of Glendive, Trenton Dirks of Fargo, Ashley, Andrea, Alisa and Alanah of Holdingford; five great-granddaughters, Aubrianna, Lauryn, and Ava Holzrichter of Lustre, Aalyiah Dirks of Williston, and Maren Gramza of Wichita.
