Larry David Virts

Larry David Virts, 68, was born July 26, 1947, in Glasgow, Mont., and passed away July 4, 2016, in Billings, Mont., from lung cancer.

He was the son of Dalphon (D.C.) Virts and Faye (Blalock) Virts. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1965 and was a member of the Army National Guard for six years, receiving an honorable discharge. He lived in several towns in Montana and held a variety of positions.

His dad worked for the Great Northern Railroad, then BNSF, for many years and instilled a life-long love of trains in him.

He was an excellent cook and a wonderful artist. Those who knew him and cared about him benefitted greatly from those two skills.

He was preceded in death by his mom, dad and his brother, Ron.

Survivors include his wife and life partner, Connie Johnson, of Billings; one brother, Jerry Virts and his wife, Anita, of Belt; one sister, Bev Whittle and her husband, Dave, of Powell, Wyo .; his stepfather, Don Phay and his wife, Mona, of Powell, Wyo .; nephews, Joshua Virts of Belt, Jeremy Virts and his wife, Christi, of Great Falls, Larry Virts and his wife, Erin, of Havre, and Robert Virts of Helena; nieces, Tina Mord and her husband, Todd, of Zurich and Joanna Whittle of Bozeman; great-nieces, Kirsten Matkin and her husband, Lee, of Chinook, Amanda, Jeni and Lori Mord of Zurich, Abbie and Rylee Virts of Great Falls, Caitlyn, Chloe and Ashley Virts of Great Falls and great nephews, Peyton and Parker of Helena; as well as numerous cousins and good friends.

As it is with all of us, he was not perfect, but his family loved him and will miss him.

As per his wishes, there will be no services.
