Scottie Sluggers Win Two of Three

Girls Finish Regular Season 14-4

Cut Bank

The Scottie girls faced Cut Bank in their first game on May 7 in Havre. Making short work of it, Glasgow defeated the Wolves in five innings. The Scotties led off the scoring in the top of the first with two runs, followed by one run from Cut Bank. That would be the only run for the Wolves as Glasgow's defense shut them down for the remaining four innings. Khloe Krumwiede, Abbi Kolstad, Lexi Nixdorf and Ashtyn Myrick all went 2-3 in the game. Kolstad hit two homers, with Krumwiede and Myrick each hitting home runs of their own. In addition, Myrick recorded four RBIs for the team. Pitcher Tyra Johnson pitched a two-hitter and allowed only one run in the game. The final score: 11-1.

Conrad

Also in Havre, Glasgow faced the Conrad Cowgirls for the second time this season, and earned their only loss of a three-game stretch. With the return of Conrad's outstanding pitcher, Tristin Achenbach, Glasgow's offense was unable to make any headway, scoring only two runs to Conrad's 14 - those two runs courtesy of Ziggy Chamberlain and Nixdorf. Final score: 14-2.

Sidney

Traveling to Sidney May 9, the Scotties faced the Eagles for their last regular season game. Glasgow scored six runs off 10 hits in the game, while Sidney was only able to bring three runners in. Tiana Johnson and Kolstad both were 2-4 at the plate with Kolstad recording a double in the game. Nixdorf went 2-2, and Myrick went 1-1. Final score: 6-3.

The girls will be heading to Columbus for the Eastern B/C tournament, which begins Friday, May 20.
