Wheatgrass Artist of the Month: Sherry Childers

The Amber Moth is where Sherry Childers has been creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry and wearable art since 1994. This month, Sherry will be sharing her artwork with the Wheatgrass Arts and Gallery. Using a variety of mediums from natural gemstones, coral and jade to bone, horn and recycled materials, Sherry has created necklaces, ear rings, brooches, lanyards and custom-made pieces. Her signature showpiece is an eye-catching, glass-ladened bowling ball mounted on an iron stand. The Dragon Eye necklace is a particularly unique and stunning piece.

Besides the pleasure of beauty and function for the art appreciator, Sherry’s art becomes a means to support her passion for helping others. The proceeds from the sales of Sherry’s artwork are donated to Christian Missions in Africa and Israel, as well as to the Rescue Mission in Great Falls, Mont. Sherry Childers is a retired Army Women’s Corp Veteran, married for 44 years, a mother of two and grandmother of six.

Please join Sherry Childers on Friday, March 4, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at her reception at the Wheatgrass Arts and Gallery, 531 2nd Ave. S. in Glasgow.
