Lady Mavs Score Two Wins Against Frazer and Nashua

North Country 82, Frazer 53

The Lady Mavericks continued their winning streak with two more victories over the weekend.

On the road to Frazer for a Friday night game, North Country defeated the Lady Bearcubs by a margin of 29 points.

Starting the game for the Lady Mavs were Jada Sudbrack, Mickayla Johnson, Tatum Moore, Kayleigh Cummings, and Bailey Funk. Coming off the bench were Casity Boucher, Payton Chopper, Sarah Boucher, and Chaykota Christensen.

Starting for the Lady Bearcubs were Shaedel Adams, Kyrsten Miller, Julia Smoker, Mya Fourstar, and Hailee Fourstar. Coming off the bench were Cassie Clampitt, Joni Jones, and Kylee Lilley.

North Country dominated the game in the first half easily, outscoring the Bearcubs by 22 points. The second half of the game was a little more balanced, but not enough to give Frazer any momentum.

Frazer struggled with scoring, only sinking 18/89 attempted two-pointers (20 percent) and 4/15 three point attempts (26.6 percent).

The Lady Mavs had much better success with 33/65 field goals (50.7 percent) and 3/5 three-point field goals (60 percent) falling.

Although it didn't reflect in the final score, the Lady Mavericks had an epic 30 turnovers in the game. In comparison, Frazer only turned the ball over 15 times.

For North Country, Johnson, Cummings and Moore each recorded double-doubles in the game. Johnson was the leading scorer with 27 total points and had 22 total rebounds. Cummings scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Before fouling out of the game, Moore recorded 10 points and 10 assists. Also contributing to the final score were Sudbrack 22, C. Boucher 5, and Funk 5.

For Frazer, M. Fourstar led the scoring with 22 points – two of them three-pointers. Also scoring: Adams 14, Clampitt 2, Miller 4, H. Fourstar 7, Smoker 4. Fouling out of the game were Smoker and H. Fourstar.

North Country 49, Nashua 18

Following their win against Frazer on Friday, the Lady Mavericks faced the Lady Porcupines in Saco.

North Country easily defeated Nashua in the contest with a final score of 49-28. To say the least, the Lady Porcupines struggled offensively, making only 7 out of 46 attempts and recording 19 turnovers in the game.

Statistically, Nashua was able to hold their own in rebounding, grabbing 36 in the game-matching well with North Country's 37. Personal fouls were kept to a minimum, with each team only receiving 11 calls.

Each Lady Porcupine rostered for the contest saw playing time. Starting the game were Taylor Laumeyer, Ziggy Chamberlain, Sophie Koessl, Tasha Chamberlain and Ryleigh Delich. Coming off the bench were: Anika Peters, Jordan Ramsbacher, Ali Cunningham, Mattea Piersak, Brennan Peters and Lauren Padden. Z. Chamberlain was the top scorer with 6. Laumeyer had 4 while A. Peters, Cunningham, B. Peters, and T. Chamberlain each recorded 2 points.

North Country played their entire roster as well with Sudbrack, Johnson, Moore, Cummings, and Funk starting the game. Coming off the bench were: Elise Strommen, C. Boucher, Chopper, Hannah Anderson, Halle Beil, S. Boucher, and Christensen. Sudbrack and Moore led the team in scoring with 19 points and 13 points respectively. Also contributing were C. Boucher 3, Johnson 7, Cummings 2, and Funk 5.

The North Country Lady Mavericks are undefeated in conference play, and are 12-4 overall. The Frazer Lady Bearcubs are 3-4 in conference play and 5-9 overall, and the Nashua Lady Porcupines are 1-7 in conference play and 2-10 overall.

Nashua will play Glasgow at home on Thursday and will travel to Frazer on Saturday. On Friday, Frazer will travel to Lustre to take on the Lions, and North Country will be traveling to Scobey to face the Spartans.
