June M. (Walters) Simanton, 82, retired lab and X-ray technician, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel in Malta. Interment of her cremated remains will be at a later date.

She was born June 1, 1933, in Hallock, Minn., the daughter of Alfred and Frances (Gamble) Walters. After high school she attended a Lab and X-Ray Technician school in Minneapolis, Minn. After graduating, she accepted a job at the Malta Hospital and Clinic and moved to Malta in 1952.

She met Dick Simanton and they were married Dec. 31, 1953, in Great Falls. They both retired from the hospital in 1995. They traveled and enjoyed seeing the sites until Dick's health started to fail. He passed away in 2001. June was a member of the Episcopal Church. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two children, Teresa Jones and her husband, Roy, of Hinsdale, and Michael Simanton of Casper, Wyo .; one brother, "Punk" Ken Walters of Hallock, Minn; grandchildren, Douglas Jones of Glasgow, Kristie Lefdahl and her husband, Derek, of Hinsdale, Adam Simanton and his wife, Desiree, of Casper, Wyo .; eight great-grandchildren, Isabellae and Augustus Jones, Deion, Sloan and Townes Lefdahl, Jordyn, Jace, and Jack Simanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
