McDonald's Franchise a Family Affair

Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand at Glasgow's McDonald's this past Saturday. A modest crowd of mixed ages gathered around the pair while the Courier spoke with the store's owner/operators, Paul and Gloria Ashenbrener. The couple took over at the Glasgow location in 2013 and have decades of combined experience with the company, primarily in Tacoma, WA., and elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

Mr. Ashenbrener explained that the franchise opportunity brought him and members of his immediate and extended family to the area, including multiple generations as young as little Lyla Pope, the couple's granddaughter, who is just 9 months old.

"We're a community-oriented bunch," he said. The Ashenbreners participate in local booster clubs and the Glasgow Reds, little league, senior clubs, and other activities.

Beginning in January of 2016, the Ashenbreners will extend their reach to Wolf Point, where the family is taking on yet another McDonald's location. Watch for details on a planned re-opening next month.
