Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Lena Sizer

Lena (Folden) Sizer, age 100, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, followed by interment in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born on Sept. 26, 1914, to Ranvig and Peder Folden. Her parents were Norwegian immigrants who homesteaded near Parshall, N.D. She was the oldest child with four brothers and a sister.

She married Sam Sizer in November, 1943.

She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and was a wonderful baker of lefse, krumkake and sandbakkels, to name a few.

She was a member of the Sons of Norway and the First Lutheran Church. She loved coffee and cookies with friends, watching birds and caring for her flowers. She worked hard to care for her family and famously walked everywhere.

Survivors include two sons, Myron Sizer of Seattle and Ervin Sizer of Glasgow.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
