Krumwiede, Thibault Commit To Play Baseball At MSU Billings

BILLINGS – The latest commitments to the Montana State University Billings baseball team are both from Glasgow, as Keil Krumwiede and Jason Thibault signed letters of intent announced Yellowjacket head coach Rob Bishop Tuesday.

Both are versatile athletes who have competed in multiple sports at Glasgow High School and played for the strong Glasgow Reds baseball program.

A three-sport standout, Krumwiede is a left-side infielder, a forward in basketball and a tight end on the football team for the Scotties. Named an all-state athlete in all three sports as a junior in 2013, Krumwiede is also a member of the National Honor Society. He will finish his career having earned eight letters in the two high-school eligible sports he participates in.

"Keil is an exceptional all-around athlete and that will translate well for him as a college baseball player," Bishop commented. "Our focus is to recruit guys that have their best baseball in front of them and this is definitely true for Keil. He has just started to develop at the plate and turning his focus to one sport in college, I expect him to make huge strides quickly on the diamond. He is a solid student and a great kid that we will enjoy coaching during the next four years."

Thibault is Krumwiede's teammate in all three sports, and he also participates in track and field for the Scotties. An all-state selection in both football and baseball, Thibault has earned 11 letters so far during his career. He was also an all-conference pick in basketball and made the all-state tournament team.

In football as a junior he was named the team's offensive most valuable player, and in track and field he took home the Coaches' Award. As a sophomore on the basketball team, he earned the Free-Throw Award. On the diamond, Thibault is a right-handed pitcher and a utility player in the infield and outfield.

"Jason has one of the strongest arms in the state on the mound and we are excited to watch him continue to develop as a pitcher," Bishop said. "He is a four-sport standout for Glasgow and another guy that we believe will make great strides when he turns his focus to baseball. He is a solid student as well and a guy that we feel will be a great fit at MSUB and in our program."

Krumwiede and Thibault join Alec Leighton and Steen Fredrickson as the early signees for Bishop's 2015-16 class.
