Patricia Marie (Birkoski) Ozuna, 69, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, N.M., died of cancer on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Glasgow, Mont., to Joseph and Genevieve (Soboleski) Birkoski. She met Juan Ozuna while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force and they married on May 5, 1962, in Glasgow. They lived in Montana until 1985, when they moved to Albuquerque.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Juan Jr. and Daryl Ozuna; her parents; four sisters, Stella, Regina, Martha and Margerite; and three brothers, Johnny, Dennis and Chesla.
Survivors include her husband, Juan, of Albuquerque; three children, Rhonda Nelson and her husband, Joe, of Palm Bay, Fla., Robert Ozuna of LaFarge, Wis., and Kevin Ozuna and his wife, Shelly, of Queen Creek, Ariz.; grandchildren, Michael Morris and his son, Jeremiah, both of Florida, Cassandra Nelson and her daughter, Kyla Nelson, also of Florida, and Tyler and Taryn Ozuna of Arizona; and her favorite brother-in-law, David Ozuna, who was like another son to her - he always called her “Momma.” She is also survived by two brothers, Edmund Birkoski and his wife, Phyliss, and Steve Birkoski and his wife, Phyliss; and two sisters, Denise Furhman and her husband, Terry, and Roselee Winters and her husband, Albert.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. The family greeted friends Friday, July 11, from 4-6 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas.
