He attended high school in town and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1963. He attended Billings Business College in Billings, Mont., for two years where he met Lilla (Flugge). In 1971, the couple moved to Glendive where they raised their family of two children. Lorin worked as an auditor for the State of Montana for 35 years. He traveled all over Montana and really focused on helping the people by working in Eastern Montana. He was well trained in record retention and storage. Later, he studied and received his administrator's license in Hospital Administration.
He loved the Lord and served as a deacon at Zion Lutheran Church. He was part of many committees at Zion Lutheran Church over the years, most recently serving on the Memorial Committee. He helped Dawson County and the community of Glendive by serving on the Urban Transportation Board for 18 years, acting as the chairperson for much of that time.
After retiring in 2005, he enjoyed golfing, spending time visiting family, including trips to Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Washington and Nevada. He enjoyed collecting things and in the last years he collected stamps.
