Janice Maureen St. Clair

Janice Maureen (Christensen) St. Clair, 70, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, surrounded by family and friends, after courageously battling ALS.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Bell Mortuary, followed by interment at the Highland Cemetery. Please join us afterwards at the VFW Hall for refreshments.

Born Oct. 30, 1943, to Julius and Margaret Christensen, she grew up in rural Hinsdale. She loved hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. She always told her grandchildren, "the only toys she had growing up were sticks and rocks."

She met her soon-to-be husband, Charles St. Clair, on a blind date. She graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1961. She married her best friend and love of her life, Charles, in October of 1962. They started out their lives together in California but soon returned to their home state of Montana.

She worked at the Valley County Courthouse for 19 enjoyable years. She also worked alongside her husband, Charles, at St. Clair Jewelry for over 15 years. She and Charles raised three daughters, Kim, LeAnn and Cindy, in Glasgow.

She wore a smile everyday of her life. Gardening and sewing were favorite pastimes of hers, but her greatest passion was her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, of 51 years; three daughters, Kim Hunter and her husband, Gregg, of Glasgow, LeAnn Nelson and her husband, Lee, of Glasgow, and Cindy West and her husband, Jim, of Maricopa, Ariz.; two sisters, Joyce Sylvester of Glasgow and Linda Porteen of Quincy, Mich.; one brother, Darrell Christensen, of Eagle, Alaska; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
