He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger; and his best friend, Uncle Harold Buen.

Survivors include one nephew, Joshua Siewing, and a sister-in-law, Linda Siewing, both of Fargo, N.D .; three uncles, Arthur Buen and his wife, Eleanor, Hartvik Garsjo and Ernest Kummerfeldt; one aunt, Lila Buen; and numerous close cousins.

The family received friends at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 21, at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel in Malta.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Saco Lutheran Church, followed by interment in the Grandview Cemetery in Saco.

The family would like to especially thank cousin Linda Lassila for her love, care and compassion. Linda is Walter's own special angel.
