Lorena M. Stein

Lorena M. (Pehan) Stein, 93, passed away peacefully in RiverStone Hospice Home and went to be with our Lord on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.

Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be said at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9, at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow for Lorena and her daughter, Helen, who passed away on Oct. 8, 2010. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born to Frank and Margret Pehan on Oct. 4, 1920, in Glentana, Mont.

She married Sylvester Stein on June 25, 1940. They lived and farmed in the Glentana area until 1970 when they retired and made their home in Glasgow. In 2000 Lorena and her daughter, Helen, moved to Billings to be closer to family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester; one daughter, Helen; one grandson, Brett Stannebein; five brothers; three sisters; and many loved ones.

Survivors include three children, Sharon Pierce and her husband, Charles, Vicki Opheim and her husband, Jerry, and Donna LaRose and her husband, David; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Pehan of Reno, Nev.

Helen Stein was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Glentana. Her younger years were spent on a farm north of Glentana. She moved to Glasgow with her parents in 1969. Helen attended Milk River Activities Facility until her move to Billings in 2000. In Billings, she attended COR up until four days before her death. In May of 2007, Helen moved to Aspen Meadows Nursing facility.
