Scottie Boys Finish Regular Season With Eyes On The Prize

It's playoff time.
The regular season has come to an end and now it's time to see how special this season can be for the Glasgow boys basketball team.
Glasgow secured the No. 1 seed in the District 2B tournament that starts on Thursday as they won their final two games of the season against Malta and Poplar.
Senior guard Lane Herbert, who's been battling a foot injury the past couple of weeks, got the start in Glasgow's final game of the season at home on Saturday, much to the surprise of fans and even boys head coach Norm Braaten.
"Lane deserves it," Braaten said. "He deserves more breaks than he's getting right now."
Braaten said the decision for Herbert to get the start came after Lane told him he wanted to dress for the game.
"When he told me that he wanted to dress [for Saturday's game], I was fine with it but made sure he knew that he wasn't going to be running up and down the court."
In the matchup against Poplar, the Scotties got contributions from four players as they found their way to double digits in scoring.
Chase Fossum led the way with 14 points while Lachlan Vaira tallied 11 and Jake Page and Keil Krumwiede followed suit with 10 points each.
The Glasgow boys will have a bye on Thursday and then square off against the winner of Harlem and Wolf Point at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
On the girls side of action, Glasgow finished the season strong by beating an overmatched Poplar team 53-18.
This was a bittersweet night for the Scotties as the faithful were saying their final goodbyes to three Glasgow seniors. Lexis Synan, Haylee Redfield and Megan Rasmusan all played their final game for the Scotties as they are graduating at the end of the school year.
Glasgow head coach Emilee Morehouse said that sending off the seniors with a win was exactly what she was hoping for after coming out flat the night before against Malta.
"We played pretty poorly last night so it was nice to see the team come out and play well," said Morehouse. "We got the win for our seniors who had their last game in Scottie territory tonight."
Glasgow's next game comes Thursday in the District 2B tournament against Harlem at 1 p.m.
