Glasgow wrestlers are hitting the mark at the right time of the season.

The squad competed in the Malta on Friday and Saturday. In the mixer on Friday, Glasgow had a strong showing in which their wrestlers went a combined 14-5 with Cody King, Kevin Frigon and Tanner Roness all going 3-0.

On Saturday, the Scotties competed in the Malta tournament in which the team came in at a respecable fifth place.

Kasey Seyfert came in second place in the 113 pound weight class as did Cody King in the 132 pound weight class.

Other Glasgow wrestlers that placed in the event included a fourth place finish by Jake Hentges at the 138 pound weight class, and Tony Kaiser and Kevin Frigon finished third and fourth respectively in the 160 and 170 pound weight classes.

On the schedule this week for Glasgow is the divisional tournament in Colstrip. The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the State Meet.

Scotties head coach Trevor Newman said that his wrestlers have continually shown improvement throughout the season and hopes that they continue to improve as they come up to the most important time of the season.

Newman pointed out that two wrestlers to watch for are Kasey Seyfert and Cody King. He said both are wrestling extremely tough right now and that King opened some eyes over the weekend by pinning Thomas Gruber from Havre.

Another two wrestlers who Newman hopes can make a run at divisionals are Tony Kaiser and Tanner Roness.

With divisonals coming this weekend, Newman hopes that his wrestlers can get a good draw going into the tournament to showcase their abilities and go to the next round.
