Wrestling Shines Bright In Harlem

Glasgow Freshman Kasey Seyfert Takes Home The Crown At 113

Glasgow wrestling is hitting their stride at the perfect time in the season.

The Scotties took fifth place overall in the Harlem tournament this past weekend and saw five of their wrestlers place in their respective weight class including Kasey Seyfert winning the tournament at 113 pounds. Seyfert claimed his crown by beating a foe that has had his number the past few weeks.

"Kasey wrestled strong and had a good showing," Scotties head coach Trevor Newman said. "He beat a kid 5-0 to win and that kid had defeated Kasey the past two weeks."

Sophomore Cody King had another great performance finishing second and 132 pounds.

Eddie Daggett took third place at 220 pounds for Glasgow while Tanner Roness and Tony Kaiser took fourth at 195 and 160 pounds respectively.

At the time of publication, results were not available from the Sidney meet that Glasgow participated in on Monday. The Scotties will be in Malta on Friday and Saturday for their next tournament.
