Sylvia Legare

Sylvia Legare, 79, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, with her children by her side at the Bethany Nursing Home located in Lakewood, Colo.

A memorial service will be held later in the spring in Glasgow.

Born to Frank and Victoria (Ramesz) Jakanoski on April 21, 1934, she was raised and educated in Glasgow.

She married the late W.E. "Gene" Legare in June of 1952. She enjoyed crafts and painting in her later years, having many of her paintings chosen for the Alzheimer's Association yearly fundraising auction called "Memories in The Making," raising thousands of dollars.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John, and a son, Bruce.

Survivors include three children, Mary Weyer and her husband, Rick, and Ken Legare, all of Parker, Colo., and Richard Legare and his wife, Sue, of Billings; three granddaughters, Sarah, Megan and Angela; two great-granddaughters, Lexi and Sophie; and one sister, Margaret Palmer, of Great Falls.

She will be missed as she was a loving mother and friend.

The family appreciated the caring staff of the Bethany Rehabilitation Center for all their kindness and support during a trying time.
