Janet L. Stuart

Janet L. Stuart, 79, passed away from natural causes on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, followed by interment in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1934, in Fosston, Minn., the daughter of Andy and Stella (Jellum) Erickson. She was raised in Fosston, moved to Glasgow when she was 14, and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1952.

On Jan. 4, 1953, she married William G. Stuart in Glasgow. They lived in Havre from 1953 to 1978 and then moved back to Glasgow.

She enjoyed fishing and shopping, and especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was active with the Elks, Girl Scouts, and the First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, William G. Stuart, of Glasgow; two sons, Scott Stuart and his wife, Debbie, of Polson, and Sam Stuart and his wife, Ann, of Forsyth; three daughters, Cindy Foster of Kalispell, Paula Hanson of Havre, and Wendy Fraser and her husband, Glenn, of Missoula; one sister, Sheri Wittman and her husband, Butch, of Green Valley, Ariz .; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
