Irle Elementary first-graders, directed by music teacher Christine Gilchrist, presented a musical called "The Reindeer Whisperer" during the school's annual

Christmas program Dec. 19 at the Evangelical Church. The elves eavesdrop on a phone call from Santa and come to the conclusion he's going to California to replace all the reindeer, which causes some trouble.
