My Take On The Affordable Box Act (Or Oboxocare)

Have I got a deal for you!

I have this really big cardboard box for sale. It’s 34 yards long, 15 yards deep and 62 yards wide. It’s a really big box.

It’s kinda like, “What’s behind Door No. 2.” I’m not going to tell you what’s in the box until you sign up for my deal. You could lose all the money and prizes you have accumulated so far if you choose wrongly.

I will tell you that it’s something you and your family really, really need to have. It will save you lots of money.

If you already have a box but aren’t satisfied with the provisions in the box you can trade it in for my box that really isn’t any better. But you can trust me!

Oh, but, there might be a penalty if you choose to keep the box you have rather than to buy mine.

Now that I have your attention, the only stipulation to buying my box is that you must read the rules I have written down. All 11,000 pages … and all written by lawyers in lawyer-eze. (Yikes! Who in the ever-lovin’ world could do that? No one, actually.)

Now, those of you with acute acuteness will have already picked up on the fact that I have been describing the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare.

First off, anything with Global, World or Obama in the wording is something to be cautious of. (Of which to be cautious? Aw, who cares anyway?)

In a country over-regulated with regulations, as we are right at this moment, Obamacare will add another possible 1,500 new regulations. Almost every paragraph in this 11,000-plus page document is a new regulation.

And how many workers and directors and regulation cops is it going to take to enforce these regulations? It’s just one of the 40 or so departments of government Obama has created since being elected to the highest office in the country. More than the six presidents before him, combined.

Buying into this is like the old warning of buying a pig in a poke. You can’t see what you are buying and have to trust in the seller that you are buying something of value. I can’t trust the word of our current chief executive.

This Obamacare thing is aimed directly at the minority faction of this country. In other words, the Democrats are using it to purchase votes in the upcoming elections.

But with all the glitches they are having with getting folks signed up for the program, I think maybe they have lodged a bullet into their own podiatrary appendage.

The Obamacare program is going to raise the national debt even farther, thus necessitating the raising of the debt ceiling.

I received an e-mail from an “undisclosed sender” that read as follows: If your neighbor’s sewer backs up and causes your house to get flooded to the ceiling with “sewage” – not the word the e-mail used, but you get the picture – is it best to raise the ceiling or pump out the “sewage?”

I know what I would do. What would you do?

That’s it for now folks. Thanks for listening.
