Frances Marie Kuszmaul

Frances Marie Kuszmaul, 87, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre, Mont., as a result of kidney failure. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, at the First Lutheran Church in Havre. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately following.

Her burial will be held at 3 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Nashua to Louis and Stella (McPherson) Johnson. She was raised in Nashua and attended school in Nashua and in Glasgow. On May 22, 1940, she married Eugene Kuszmaul in Wolf Point. He was in the Army Air Corps, and when he was honorably discharged the couple made their home in Fort Peck to begin their family. She worked at Woolworth’s and at the Fashionette in Glasgow. In 1983 when the couple decided to retire, they moved to Havre to be near their daughter Beth.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Havre and TOPS. She was very active in her church, attending Bible study and serving as a Stephen Minister, visiting the shut-ins and the elderly. She was a very strong person who was loving and accepting of all people. She was very patient and content with her life, no regrets. She enjoyed her walks at the mall with coffee following. Her family and friends were very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene, a niece, Debbie Roness, and a sister in-law, Ann Johnson.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheron Smoyer and Bob Stevens of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Beth Davidson and her husband, Joe, of Havre; a son, Don Kuszmaul, and his wife, Shaune, of Great Falls,; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Johnson of Nashua. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Havre.

Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
