Elizabeth 'Bettie' Hall

Elizabeth “Bettie” (Tryon) Hall, 93, formerly of Glasgow, died of natural causes on Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Joseph, Ore.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Glasgow, followed by interment in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1919, in Westfield, Mass., the daughter of Paul and Marguerite Tryon, and raised in Westfield. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and attended two years of college. She played piano and sang with a band in Westfield.

She met Glenn Henry Hall of Glasgow in 1941, and on March 7, 1943, she and Glenn were married in Westfield. They lived in Westfield, Malta, and then moved to Glasgow in the early 1950s. They both worked at Hall Drug until retiring in 1979.

After retirement, her priorities were her grandchildren, her flowers, and spending time with her neighbors. She loved having coffee at the bakery. She also enjoyed painting-by-number pictures, knitting, and spending time at their cabin at the lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, on March 30, 1990; and a brother, Donald Tryon, in March of 2006.

Survivors include one son, Mark T. Hall and his wife, Mary Ann, of Fort Peck; two daughters, Pamela Knight and her husband, Terry, of Gladstone, Miss., and Sally Marte (Andy Osborn) of Joseph, Ore.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Tryon and his wife, Faith, of Fort Pierce, Fla.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
