    The Cal Ripken Border League Baseball Tournament will be held in Scobey at Lions Field on Friday, July 12, through Sunday, July 14. The Opheim Twins (0-8) will play the Scobey Red Sox, the league champions (8-1) in the first game of the tournament.     The Opheim Little League Twins played the Scobey Red Sox last week. The final score was 8-4 in favor of the Red Sox. In the first, Scobey scored two runs. In the second, each team scored one run. In the third, Scobey scored one run and the Twins scored three, bringing the score to 5-4. In the last three innings, Scobey scored one run in each inning and Opheim did not score again.     The Opheim Little League Twins played their first home game last Tuesday against the Scobey White Sox. The Twins lost 9-1. Adler Morgan pitched four innings for the Twins and Haylee Fauth pitched two. Thomas Fry scored the Twins only run on a double and two errors on the White Sox.     A pair of Raiders scored the only points for area schools at the Class C State Meet in Laurel on Friday and Saturday. Fresh off a five-event sweep at districts and divisionals, Bethany Lacock ran into some tough competition from the other parts of the state. She was still able to place in three events, scoring all 10.33 points for the Lady Raiders, but did not take gold in any.     Nashua and Scobey swapped spots in the team scores at the District 3C Meet in Glasgow on May 8. The Nashua boys took the top spot with 132 points, edging out Scobey’s 122. Gabby Pierre placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.6 seconds, third in the 200 with a time of 28.5, second in the long jump with a 14-foot jump and third in high jump with a 4- 2 leap. Staying true to Hinsdale’s moniker, Bethany Lacock raided the Porcupine Invitational for 40 individual points, the meet high, carrying the Lady Raiders to a sixth-place finish on Saturday, the best of any Valley County girls’ squad.
