The Montana Newspaper Association (MNA) held their annual convention on June 17 and 18 in Helena, Mont., where a variety of representatives of Montana newspapers gathered, socialized and recognized each other for their work. Mother Nature made her presence known in more ways that one over the last week with severe thunderstorms, flooding and a tornado. After many reports of tornado sightings the evening of June 1 on the Valley and Daniels County border, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Glasgow confirmed a landspout tornado occurred near Lustre. Sometimes, Wise guys finish first. That was the case at the 2021 Catfish Classic when Bobby and Robert Wise took the top slot. The 20th-Annual Milk River Catfish Classic was historic in more ways than one. The 8th Annual Missouri River Catfish Clash took place in Williston, N.D., Aug. 18, as 40 boats hit the water on a beautiful sunny day. The Clash never seems to disappoint in terms of the number of catfish caught or the overall size of the fish, and this year was no different. An impressive 19 teams weighed in over 20 pounds. The 19th Annual Catfish Classic came to an end just after midnight on June 3. The festivities began with the Calcutta and street dance on Glasgow's famous Front Street on June 1, and concluded with the midnight weigh-ins in downtown Glasgow.
