A painful but important reminder was placed at Sullivan Park this week. The National Weather Service in Glasgow worked with the Glasgow Reds baseball team to place a high water mark on the concessions stand. At least half a dozen burglaries have taken place in Valley County and Glasgow over the last few weeks. At Monday’s City Council meeting ,Lt. Trint Gamas said that investigators had one possible suspect in custody – but there may be another. “We just need to remind people to lock their doors on their car doors and their houses,” Gamas said during the council meeting. A third man has been arrested in connection with a recent Valley County drug investigation. Steven Harvey Morlock, 29, of St. Marie, was arrested in Dunn County North Dakota by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 13, according to the Valley County Sheriff's Ofiice. Morlock was arrested on a felony arrest warrant out of Valley County District Court stemming from the same Valley County Sheriff’s Office investigation that led to the arrests of Mark Alan Wagoner and Douglas Michael Turner. A memorandum of understanding between Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation allows about 3,700 acres of federal land near Wagner in Phillips County to be specifically designated as being open to the public, FWP announced. Dear Editor: As ranchers, we have read about and heard about the devastation the ranchers in South Dakota have endured. I am writing about two young ranchers that lost the majority of their cattle to the storm. They are nephews of my sister, Kathleen, in South Dakota. Walter James Thorn, 77, from Glasgow, Mont., died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in Billings after a year-long battle with a rare form of leukemia. The Glasgow High School Speech & Drama Team competed Saturday at the Circle Invitational Meet. Sixteen schools competed at this meet; eight of them were Class B schools, three Class A and five Class C. The Glasgow team again came home with the Class B Drama trophy, earning 50 points while their closest rival, Plentywood, earned 25 and Huntley Project had 24 points.
