| The Scottie girls responded to yesterday’s heart-breaking loss with a slightly sluggish but nonetheless solid 61-40 win over the Poplar Lady Indians to cement their place in the Northern B Divisional next weekend in Glasgow. Alex Page had a team-high 14 points for the Scottie girls and added five rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Lexis Synan also had 14 points and was only two rebounds away from a double-double with eight. Poplar’s Alex Firemoon had a game-high 16 points and tied for the game-high in rebounds with her teammate Shawna Hagadone at nine. Erin Red Eagle added eight points for the Lady Indians in their season finale. Glasgow suffered a wrenching loss to the Lady Wolves yesterday in a game that, at one point, they led by 16 points. But a 23-point fourth quarter gave Wolf Point the win and a spot in the District 2B championship against Plentywood. The Scottie girls were dropped to the loser-out game against Poplar and responded with a win, but now they are relegated to the fourth seed out of 2B and a presumptive date with heavyweight Fairfield in the first round of divisionals. In that game, Fairfield will be going for their Montana state-record 73rd straight win if they win tonight in the District 1B championship game against Conrad.
