Esther Ovidia Kraus

1916-2013

Esther Ovidia (Opland) Kraus, 96, died of natural causes on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mont.

Funeral services will be held in the spring. Interment was held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born April 16, 1916, in Nashua, Mont., the daughter of Dick and Bentine (Anderson) Opland. She was raised in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1935.

In 1935 she married John Brenden. They lived in Nashua and raised six children – four daughters and two sons. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, worked at the Gateway Motel for 11 years and also a few years at the Ben Franklin Store in Glasgow. Her husband John died in 1961.

In 1968 she married Floyd Kraus from Minot, N.D. They lived in Minot until 1976 and then moved to Kalispell. They also lived nine winters in Arizona, enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends and were members of the Senior Citizens.
