Barbara Berge

Barbara (Holtberg) Berge, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the Valley View Rest Home in Glasgow, Mont., where she resided the last six months due to complications from a stroke.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be planned in the spring.

She was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Glasgow, the oldest daughter of Lawrence and Nola Cline Holtberg. She was mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She lived the majority of 87 years in Frazer and Glasgow. She received her education in Frazer and remained active in the Frazer School system. She was involved in band, basketball, Luther League, camps in the Bearpaw Mountains and loved playing the piano. After school she worked at the Martin Lien Gambles Store. Later she worked for Bob Hovey in his grocery store.

Her father worked for the Great Northern, so in the summer she would take the train to Havre to visit her Aunt Martha or to Seattle to stay with her Aunt Selma or Emma.
