The awards just keep rolling in for the Glasgow Scotties' fall sports season. With both the state volleyball and football tournaments over, the all-state and all-conference teams were announced this week and there is Scottie red throughout both lists.

Three Scotties, two from football and one from volleyball, were named to the all-state team. Juniors Johnathon Koessl and Luke Gunderson were the honorees for the football team and senior Alaina Cole was the representative from the volleyball team.

"[Cole] was one of the hardest workers we've ever had in the program," said head volleyball coach Lori Dailey. "She was completely effective both offensively and defensively, which is pretty rare at the high school level."

Head football coach Greg Liebelt echoed the same sentiments about his two all-state players.

"They are very deserving. They both had terrific seasons," said Liebelt.

Koessl was also named to three all-conference teams: second team offense as a running back, second team defense as a defensive back and first team specialty players as a kick/punt returner. Gunderson was named to both the first team offense and the first team defense for all-conference.

Several Scotties joined Koessl and Gunderson on the all-conference teams. Senior Bryan Larson was selected to the first team offense at wide receiver and first team defense at defensive back. Senior Robbie Henville made both the second teams on the offensive and defensive lines. Senior quarterback Lane Herbert was selected to the second team offense.

Sophomore Keil Krumwiede rounded out the selections on the offensive side with a second team selection at tight end. Krumwiede also made the first team specialty players as a punter. Krumwiede was one of three sophomores to make the list and the only sophomore to appear on two teams.

Seniors Travis Austin and Greg Fewer joined Larson and Gunderson on the first team defense as Austin was named at defensive end and Fewer at linebacker.

Malta earned six players on the all-state football team with Kaden Bedwell, Zach Czereda, Kendall Denham, Kelin King, Reid Robinson and Tucker Schye all being selected. Plentywood's Jackson Marsh rounds out the list for District 2B.

Cole, a middle hitter for the Scottie girls, was also named to the all-conference first team for volleyball as the Scotties' lone representative. However, junior Megan Dailey and senior Alex Page were selected to the all-conference second teams.

Malta's Courtney Henry and Plentywood's Cara Stadstad join Cole on the all-state team from District 2B.

These honors for the Scotties come after the volleyball team placed second at districts and the football team made it to the state quarterfinals. The fall sports season began accumulating awards when the Scottie girls' cross country team won the state championship for the third year in a row and the boys' team placed third in Helena on Oct. 20. In the process, Josie Braaten and Rachael Zeiger made all-state for the girls and Austin Green and Matthew Phillips made it for the boys.
