PROPOSED GRAVEL PIT

Valley County (501 Court Square, Glasgow, MT 59230) (phone number 406-228-6291) is proposing to open a gravel pit (Copenhaver Pit).

The proposed pit is located in Township 31 North, Range 37 East, Section 33 SW quarter.

The sight is approximately 7 miles East of Hinsdale, Mt. on Highway 2, then North approximately 590 feet as shown on the map below.

The proposed pit area is 21.4 acres and the county expects to mine 200,000 cubic yards of gravel over a period of 5 years or more.

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is accepting requests for a public meeting on the following proposed opencut operation in your area:

Closing date: The DEQ will accept requests for a public meeting until September 14, 2012.
