| SCHOOL ELECTION NOTICE HINSDALE ELEMENTARY DISTRICT 7a
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the undersigned Clerk of School District 7a & 7C of Valley County, State of Montana, that pursuant to a certain resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees of said school district on March 20, 2012, an election of the qualified electors of School District 7s & 7C of Valley County, Hinsdale, Montana, will be held on Tuesday, the 8th day of May, 2012, at the Hinsdale School multipurpose room for the purpose of voting on the question of whether the Board of Trustees of School District 7s & 7C of Valley County, Montana, shall be authorized to run a levy for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Hinsdale Public Schools for the 2012-2013 school year beginning July 1, 2012. The polls will be open between the hours of 12 Noon and 8 P.M. A qualified registered elector who will be unable to go to the polls on the day of the election may request an “Application for Absentee Voter’s Ballot” from the school district clerk’s office located at 600 N. Montana, Hinsdale, Montana, between the hours of 9 A.M. and 4 P.M. beginning Monday, April 16th, until Monday, May 7th, at 12 Noon.
Proposition Shall the district be authorized to impose an increase in local taxes to support the general fund in the amount of $14,804.73, which is approximately 3.75 mills for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Hinsdale Elementary School for the 2012-2013 school year. Passage of this proposal will increase the taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $5.52 and on a home with a market value of $200,000 by approximately $11.02. The durational limit of the levy is permanent once approved by the voters, assuming the district levies that amount each year thereafter. However, lowering over-BASE tax levies in any year will lower the amount of permissively over-BASE levies in subsequent years.

Passage of this proposal will increase the taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $.50 and on a home with a market value of $200,000 by approximately $1.00. The durational limit of the levy is permanent once approved by the voters, assuming the district levies that amount each year thereafter.
