Nashua’s Sean Bengochea and Mahala Glasgoe led the way for the Porcupines at the Glasgow Invitational.

Bengochea built upon an impressive showing at the Wolf Point Invitational with another successful meet at Glasgow.

He surpassed his Wolf Point mark in the shot put by an inch with a distance of 40- 9, which would have been further if it wasn’t for the weather. He also competed in both of the team relays for Nashua and helped place fifth in each with team times of 49.97 seconds and 4:27.0, respectively.

Meanwhile, Glasgoe ran very well for the Lady Porcupines in both the 800- and 400-meter events. She placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:56.6 and fourth in the 400 at 1:17.0.

“Overall, I though we had a pretty good day,” said girls’ Head Coach Ryen Falkenstern. “[The girls] did a pretty good job.”

Lena Chamberlain broke her personal record in the long jump, according to Falkenstern, and placed fifth with a distance of 13- 7 1/2.

Madison Sibley also had a very good day for the Lady Porcupines placing fourth in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the discus.

She ran a 1:00.75 in the hurdles and threw 86- 0 in the discus which was a foot and four inches further than she threw at Wolf Point.
