| Harold D. Magruder, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Mont. A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, Sept. 25, at 12 noon in Missoula. He was born July 10, 1925, in Glasgow, to Paul and Gladys Magruder. He attended Glasgow High School, graduating in 1943. Immediately after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. He was a B-17 tail gunner with the 8th Air Corps, 486 Bomb Group, which flew 35 missions over Europe. He earned the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters. He was stationed in England during WWII. He married Corrin McCann on Aug. 9, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry F. Magruder; and a brother, Howard Magruder. Survivors include his wife, Corrin; a son, Monte, and his wife, Sheryl; grandchildren, Christopher, and his wife, April, David and Anne Magruder, and Cody Hatton; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Alexis and Gabriel Magruder.
