| Duane Julien, 62, of Anthem, Ariz., and Bozeman, Mont., died of a lengthy illness on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. Duane was born in Duluth, Minn., on March 6, 1947. In 1948, his family relocated to California, where he developed his enthusiasm for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for nature. A 1965 graduate of Anderson Union High School in Anderson, Calif., he subsequently received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in social studies and anthropology from California State University at Chico. Survivors include his wife of eight years, Mary Skordinsky; his parents, Donald and Joan (Thoreson) Julien of Las Vegas, Nev.; siblings Robert and Claudia Julien of Redding, Calif.; two daughters, April Julien Todd of Belgrade and Erin Julien Sharkey of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandsons, Jack and Henry Sharkey; sons-in-law Bill Todd and Chris Sharkey; and his former wife of 30 years, Carol (Holmes) Julien, of Bozeman. Condolences and memorial contributions may be sent to Mary Skordinsky, Post Office Box 74023, Phoenix, AZ 85087-1000. Click Here To See More Stories Like This |
