Drew Croy and Taylor Markle were named the Senior Athletes of the Year at the Spring Sports Awards Banquet on Tuesday at Glasgow High School.

Croy, a three-sport star who will be heading to Rocky Mountain College to play football, started this year on the football, basketball and track teams. Croy was an first team All-Conference selection at wide receiver for the football team this year, as well as playing defensive back and punter. In basketball, Croy was voted the Scotties' Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, in addition to being named second team All Conference. Croy was also the track team's top sprinter, but went down with an injury before State.

Markle, also a three-sport athlete, started this year for the volleyball, basketball and track teams. As a first team All-Conference selection on the volleyball team, Markle played an unlikely outside hitter, using her jumping ability and strength to over power taller defenders. In basketball, Markle led the Scotties one game from the State playoffs from the point guard position on the way to an All-State selection. Markle is the lead sprinter on the Scotties' track team, setting school records in the 100 and 200 meter dashes in her senior season. She has qualified for State in both events as well as the long jump and both 400 and 1600 relays.

In other awards given at the ceremony, the softball team awarded senior shortstop Shielda Pattison as the Offensive Most Valuable Player. Fellow senior Jess Mehling was named as the Defensive MVP for her performance as the team's pitcher this season. Tyana Rasmusan was named the Most Improved Player.

The Golf handed out five awards at the ceremony, naming Kevin Hill the Boys' MVP and Kirsten Bense the Girls' MVP. The Coaches Choice awards were given to Peter Breigenzer and KayCee Markle. Casey Riggin was given the Senior Leadership award.

The track and field teams awarded Patrick Billingsley and Jami Johnson as the High Point scorers this season. Melissa Unger and Luke Zeiger were named Most Improved Athletes and the Coaches Award was given to Bailey Burleson and Alacia Cole.
