Four local basketball players were named to the All-State team after the season ended this weekend.

Glasgow's Jon Page was the sole Scotty on the boys All-State team, joining Malta's Dane Styles and Harlem's Elias Goes Ahead on the list of the best players in Class B.

Page led the Scotties in scoring this season and stepped it up when it counted, averaging 12.8 points per game during the postseason, most with a ailing hip. The 6-foot-2 senior was one of the best in the league at driving into the lane to get his shots, which also got him plenty of opportunities from the free-throw line. Page was by far the best free throw shooter on Glasgow's team this season, making him one of the main targets in close games, including a stellar performance against Glendive, when he scored a game-high 18 points and went 12-for-17 from the line to put a stamp on the Scotties' 69-59 win over the Red Devils.

In Class C, Nashua's Brandon Hansard and Lustre Christian's Morgan Young were selected to the Boys All-State team.

Young, a senior guard for the Lions, was also his teams point leader while leading Lustre to its best record in years and the best record in District 3C through the regular season. Despite finishing third in the district tournament, Young rallied the troops in the divisional rounds, averaging 15 points per game over his last three games, including an outburst of 11 points during a 16-1 run that nearly brought the Lions back from a 23-point deficit in the play-in game against Circle.

Hansard, a junior center for the Porcupines, was a force on the inside for a young Nashua team. A leader in rebounds and points, Hansard is a big body to move around and was instrumental in getting the Porcupines to the divisional playoffs.

On the girls side, Glasgow senior guard Taylor Markle was the only Scotty selected to the Girls Class B All-State team.

The senior guard led the Scotties in scoring this season, using her blazing speed as a weapon to get into the lane despite being only 5-foot-5. Markle was also a team leader on defense, leading an aggressive team that fought for steals in the front and backcourts.

The list of All-State selections from the Girls District 3C was not available at press time.
