Robert Buffington

Robert Buffington, 81, of Miles City, Mont., died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

Family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 31, from 5-7 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Family and friends will meet at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home Friday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. to proceed to the Custer County Cemetery for an 11 a.m. Military Graveside Service.

He was born on April 19, 1931, in Miles City, to Wilton Hale “Fuzzy” Buffington and Opha Murl Kester. He attended schools in Jordan and Cohagen, Mont. He married Ardella Ady and had one child, Mary Ellen Ryan.

He served in the U.S. Army in 1953-1955 during the Korean War. He operated landing crafts for Inchon invasion. He returned home and went to work for Vaughn Newland moving dirt and building dams.
