Glenn 'Gene' Beil

Glenn “Gene” Beil, 85, died on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Legion Hall in Hinsdale, followed by interment in the Hillview Cemetery in Hinsdale.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1927, in Hinsdale, the son of James and Jessie (Hill) Beil. He was born on the home place north of Hinsdale and kept in a shoe box in the warming oven of the house. He was raised and lived his entire life in Hinsdale. He graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1945.

He purchased his first piece of land in 1946. He married Evelyn Lacock on Jan. 14, 1955, in Sandpoint, Idaho. He served on the Hinsdale School Board and enjoyed hunting, fishing, his grandkids, playing whist, target practice and shooting gophers.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Beil; one great-grandson, Dustin Beil; two half-brothers; and three half-sisters.
